Cologne/Bonn is one of the few German airports without a night flight ban, which makes it a major express cargo location and gives it a duty roster most airports do not have. Night shifts, early passenger banks and weekend charter traffic all compete for the same people.

Where our staff work in Cologne: Terminals 1 and 2 at CGN for check-in and boarding support, passenger guidance, lounge service and wheelchair assistance support, together with baggage and ramp support, aircraft cabin cleaning and retail or catering cover.
Night operations and clearance: Airside access requires the ZÜP check, four to six weeks as a rule, and we file it and cover the cost so the pool is ready before the peak. Staff are briefed before the shift, multilingual cover is available, and 13.90 euro per hour applies in 2026.
