How many promoters a promotion campaign needs depends on locations, opening hours and task: usually one to two promoters per stand and shift, plus a supervisor when several locations run in parallel. ucm provides promotion teams in ten cities from over 60,000 vetted students, with replacements in about 2 hours and hourly rates from about 27.50 euros.
A promotion team is the group of promoters, a supervisor and, where needed, floaters who carry out a promotion campaign at one or more locations. Its size is planned in people per shift and in working hours, not as a flat package.
Team size can be calculated in five steps. The result is a number you can put straight into a request:
The formula behind it: locations times positions times shifts times days gives the number of shifts. Multiplied by shift length, that gives the working hours, the basis of every offer.
Shift length determines how many people you need for a given opening time. Two statutory limits are decisive in Germany.
Working time on a working day must not exceed eight hours. It can be extended to up to ten hours if an average of eight hours per working day is not exceeded within six calendar months or 24 weeks (Section 3 of the German Working Hours Act, ArbZG).
For working time of more than six and up to nine hours, a break of at least 30 minutes is mandatory, and for more than nine hours at least 45 minutes (Section 4 ArbZG).
In practice, shifts of up to six hours have proven themselves: they need no statutory break, and the quality of conversations stays high throughout. If you want twelve hours of presence, plan two shifts instead of one long one.
A weekend campaign in four stores, Friday and Saturday, two promoters in parallel per store, two six-hour shifts per day. That makes 32 shifts and 192 working hours. Add a supervisor with 24 hours, for 216 hours in total.
At the base rate of 27.50 euros per hour that comes to 5,940 euros, and at typical hourly rates of about 30 to 48 euros between 6,480 and 10,368 euros. According to the pricing page, the exact rate depends on location, lead time and assignment profile, and there is no basic fee.
Team size is only as good as the pool behind it. The larger the local pool, the easier it is to staff several locations in parallel and at short notice. The ucm city pages give these pool sizes:
ucm provides promotion teams from over 60,000 vetted students in ten German cities, including in parallel at several locations. The fill rate is 98 percent, and dropouts are replaced in about 2 hours. Billing starts at about 27.50 euros per hour with no basic fee, and a supervisor and reporting can be planned in.
A supervisor pays off as soon as several locations run at the same time or a team works over several days. They handle the on-site briefing, check presence and materials, step in when things get tight and deliver the daily reporting. For a single stand with one promoter, coordination through the agency is usually enough.
At ucm, bookings with three days' lead time are still possible, then at an adjusted hourly rate. If someone drops out during the campaign, ucm organises a replacement in about 2 hours. For large campaigns, still plan floaters, because they bridge the time until the replacement arrives.
The next step: enter locations, days and the desired presence time in a request. You will receive an offer with the calculated team size within a few hours.
